Get to know Qlik Replicate, Attunity, and Qlik Compose better

Below, we give an abstract of our recently updated, independent ETL & Data Integration research on the software vendor Qlik and its product portfolio (such as Qlik Replicate, Attunity, and Qlik Compose). Qlik ETL & Data Integration scores better in our independent study than SAP but slightly worse than Microsoft. Of all the categories in our study, Qlik scored the highest on data connectivity and has a poor performance in master data management. We have been able to establish this objectively. Within the context of ETL & Data Integration, we have researched the pros and cons of Qlik Data Integration, and listed them by theme (DI, extract transform load, data replication, and data quality). We also display the strengths of key products like Qlik Replicate, Attunity, and Qlik Compose et cetera.

How does Qlik ETL & Data Integration perform on certain components?

In our study, we also inspected the various software products of Qlik software. More than 290 criteria were used in the process. The chart below shows the scores (on a scale of 1-5) of Qlik Data Integration, compared to other ETL & Data Integration tools. Please note that Passionned Group is 100% independent of the software vendors in our research. We are not a reseller, we do not make deals or have any ties to the vendor. Among other things, we help and advise organizations in selecting the right ETL & Data Integration platform.

Three recent innovations of Qlik Data Integration tools and the version history

Recently, we see a stable evolution when it comes to ETL & Data Integration functionality and support for various platforms and data sources. The latest innovations are in the areas of data infrastructure > operating system > UNIX > UNIX server, data integration > data integration patterns, and data connectivity > FTPS.

We investigated Qlik’s most recent releases of its complete ETL & Data Integration proposition. Below you can see the structure of the various releases of the various ETL & Data Integration products of Qlik:

  • Attunity: 6.5 5.0 4.0 4 3.0
  • Qlik Catalog: May 2023 February 2023 November 2022 May 2022 February 2022 November 2021 May 2021 February 2021
  • Qlik Compose: May 2022 August 2021 May 2021 25
  • Qlik Data Integration: February 2024 May 2021
  • Qlik DataTransfer: November 2022 August 2022 April 2022
  • Qlik Replicate: May 2024 May 2023 November 2022 November 2021 May 2021 2023.11 2022.11
  • Qlik Salesforce Connector: December 2022 13.1 13.0

Behind each product, we notate the version numbers, the most recent updates are listed first.

Can you easily determine the licensing costs of Qlik Replicate, Attunity, and Qlik Compose?

In many cases, it can be difficult to determine the licensing costs of Qlik ETL & Data Integration because it depends on the country, the number of users (or the number of CPUs in the case of server software), the connectors to data sources, and at what point in the year you request a quote. If you do this a few weeks before the end of Qlik’s fiscal quarter, you may be in for a decent discount. In addition, we recommend to run the software in the cloud. Often you only pay for what you consume in resources. The purchase cost of Qlik Replicate, Attunity, and Qlik Compose may not be the largest amounts, but maintenance and support can certainly put quite a strain on your annual budget.

What makes Qlik ETL & Data Integration worth considering

In our study, we see that Qlik in the field of ETL & Data Integration software has several specific features which may be the deciding factor in purchasing. This makes Qlik Data Integration more or less unique: one-way data synchronization, two-way data synchronization, incremental ETL, MDG, and sql replication.

The advantages and disadvantages of Qlik Data Integration

Tag cloud of the Qlik Data Integration software.Figure 35: Tag cloud with the strength-weakness analysis of Qlik ETL & Data Integration

In the following paragraphs, we name all the pros and cons of Qlik ETL & Data Integration, Qlik Replicate, Attunity, and Qlik Compose, et cetera. They are not cemented in place, i.e.: Qlik can currently work on creating features that meet specific customer needs (such as support for GIT, big data security, EAI, self-service integration, and data quality framework). Or a certain feature is not (yet) (well) documented.
